Aelemar at the Black Dagger Thiefs' Guild

Aelemar stepped into the Black Dagger Thiefs' guild.

This is stupid! I don't need training!

She rolled her eyes in annoyance. She obviously did, the scars on her cheek and throat could prove that.

" Excuse me," Aelemar began to ask a woman that was near by.
"I came here for some training, is there anyone I need to speak to?"

The woman sneered at her and hissed, "The old man in the corner. He gives the training."

Aelemar walked toward the direction the woman had pointed her in. There were whispers among some of the people as she walked past.

Before Aelemar could even speak the old man grabbed her by the wrist and lead her to a door that said,

Tranin Rum

It was obviously wriiten by a child......or an absolute idiot.

"I'll be your instructor and this is your classroom. T'morrow you'll start. By the way m'name's Ozell Miryyn."The old man said.

Not even able to speak she nodded and walked to a table a sat down.

THE NEXT DAY

"Git up! Ya' said ya' wanted trainin'!" Ozell ordered.

"I fell asleep? OH! My head--"Aelemar complained.

"Arii hit you with a bucket, she didn't mean to, at least I think."

"Arii?"

"She's the woman you talked to yesterday."

"Oh, her. When do we start?"

"Half an hour. Get yer stuff."

"OK. I'll be there."

She then walked out of the building and to a few stores to buy her replacement gear.

After returning with all her new items Aelemar walked back into the guild. Ozell was waiting for her.

"Ya' got 10 minutes, girlie. We start with lock picking so git it out."

"I'm ready Tutor Miryyn."Aelemar said after a short while.

"Just call me Ozell!" He snapped. "Ready, I have a trap on one so be carefull. And the only reson I'm tellin' you is so I don't get blamed for your death!"

"Thanks for the pep-talk." she wispered sarcasticly. Ozell lead her to a wall with a series of doors and picked up a large stick.

"What's that for?"

"Motivation."

She than began to pick the first lock.

"Your being to loud!" Ozell said and then hit her on the head with the stick. It didn't hurt to bad, she just hoped he wouldn't use a sword next time.

The door opened. there was nothing inside.

Aelemar started the next.

"Your being to quick!"Ozell said. Another swat. She jerked away.

SNAP!

The lock pick broke in half!

"My pick!" She yelled. "No. You made me brake it. Now I have to buy another!"

"You certainly didn't pass this one." He said examining the door, He obviously didn't care about her expense. Infuriated, Aelemar stormed out.

We should stay here!

About a mile down the road from the guild, a boy ran after Aelemar.

"Wait! Hey! C'mon! Stop!" He yelled, out of breath. Aelemar turned. "My grandpa tried to get your lock pick out and set off the trap. You need to help!" They walked back to the guild house.

"What's your name?"Aelemar said.

"Ash Miryyn." The boy replied.

"How old are you?"

"Seventeen. You?"

"Twenty. What do you want to be when you grow up?"

"A knight."

"Really? Cool. I knew a knight once. His name was Sir Goodfry. He was a chicken."

"That's not very nice."

"I'm being literal. He was a chicken aniver."

"Heh, Stir Fry."

The two laughed until they reached the building.

Ozell lay on a table, Arii sat near him.

"Mom, is grandpa going to be okay?" Ash questioned Arii.

"Maybe. I can't patch him up any more." Arii said threw a choked cry. Ozell moaned.

"Ash do you know how to heal yet?" Aelemar whispered to the boy. He looked at Aelemar and nodded. He walked over to Ozell and cast a minor healing spell. Ozell lay still, he was unconscious.

"Ash, you saved his life! Where'd you learn to do that?" Arii asked her son.

"I bought a book and studied the spell. You see, I want to be a knight." Ash replied.

"And you will!" Arii said as she embraced him.

After three weeks Ozell was fully healed, Arii bought her son more books, and Aelemar completed her training.

"Goodbye everyone!" Aelemar exclaimed as she walked out of the guild. It was a shame she had to leave, right as Arii began to like her, Ozell was not as strict, and the whispers among the guild about her stopped. She would be missed. And she would miss them. Aelemar was off to Port Io to meet up with Captain Hellcat and the crew. It was time for more adventures!

Let's stay another night!

No, the longer she stayed, the more she would miss them.

"Aelemar! Wait! Ugh! Why do we always end up in this position?" Ash called out from several feet behind Aelemar.

"Ash! Your supposed to be back there!" Aelemar shouted pointing in the direction they had come from.

"I wanted to come with you!"

"I'm part of a pirate crew!"

"What better for my first adventure?"

"I don't know, maybe rescuing a cat from a tree!"

"I'm coming with, whether you like it or not!"

"If your mother knew about this--"

"It was her idea!"

Aelemar rolled her eyes and they continued walking toward Port Io.

The two walked down the road until they reached an armory and a weapons shop.

"Now, I'll buy you a sword and some armor. Go ahead and browse while I go across the street to get some food and maybe a traveling kit for you." Aelemar ordered Ash.

The hellfolk explained to the shopkeeper so there weren't any misunderstandings and walked out.

"What did you buy?" Ash asked curiously.

"Where do I start? I bought you some chainmail armor," Aelemar began and handed the boy the armor."a broad sword, and a traveling kit."

"What's the rest?"

"Some food, pans, and a cutting board. Oh, and I bought two daggers for myself."

"So is your captain there yet?"

"I don't know."

"What will we do if she's not there yet?"

"Stay in a tavern. Come on, let's check the port to see if she's there."

The two headed toword the harbor area to wait for Captain Hellcat and her crew.

You shouldn't have done that.

"So not the time." Aelemar growled she couldn't wait for Hellcat any longer. And she couldn't deal with Ash any longer.

So when he fell asleep, she simply slipped out. Now she was running up and down the dock begging them to take her to Port Skell.

Aelemar ran past an old man with a straw hat in a row boat.

What about him?

"I spoke to him already."

No you didn't.

She rolled her eyes and walked back to the old man whom she'd spoken to three times already.
